Bahrain Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani has assured that flights to Israel will start operating soon. Meanwhile Israel Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabi Ashkenazi revealed that he is planning to visit Bahrain in the near future aiming to start an embassy for his country in the kingdom. The two key ministers met at Israel's Foreign Affairs Ministry today.

An official Bahraini delegation, led by Al Zayani, arrived in Israel yesterday for two days of talks. The visit, comprising a number of officials from the Kingdom’s ministries and state departments, in addition to businessmen, is the second official visit by a Bahraini delegation to Israel. Upon arrival, the Bahraini delegation was welcomed by Israeli Economy and Industry Minister Amir Peretz, Tourism Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen, Regional Cooperation Minister Ofir Akunis, and several other officials. Minister Al Zayani said that the visit to Israel was based on the two countries’ agreements in the Declaration Supporting Peace, signed in Washington on September 15, 2020.

It is also in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision on promoting the principles of “security, stability and prosperity”, he said, adding that Bahrain was keen to maintain its reputation as a beacon of peace in the region. The visit also follows on the results of the previous visits to the two sides. The two countries said they were keen to work together in various sectors, especially regarding the economic and tourism sectors in whose fields they sought to build bilateral partnerships. The signing of memoranda of understanding in many fields will lead to achieving economic prosperity for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel, and therefore ensure more stability in the region. Bahrain and Israel will continue bolstering their cooperation to achieve their common interests and such visits, and others in the future; will contribute to launching many cooperation initiatives in various fields, the ministers added.
