The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has opened a new integrated branch for legal enforcement in Sitra. The specially designed facility in the industrial zone now works on a trial basis for two weeks before opening doors to public starting in mid-November.
LMRA CEO Osama bin Abdullah Al Absi said that the new branch - located near the Expatriate Services Branch in Sitra Industrial Area - will help citizens, residents and business owners, and reduce processing time.
Al-Absi said this is the first specialised branch of the LMRA, which houses all the facilities that support business owners.
The facility, built on an area of one thousand square meters, has more than 100 parking spots.
The new branch will provide services of the preventive and labour inspection departments, which interviews employers, process claims of employers, complaints, inquiries and testimonies in criminal cases amongst others.
The new branch will operate five days a week from Sunday to Thursday from 7.30am until 3.30pm.
The authority said it receives approximately 650,000 references annually, which are processed through six branches, including the main building, the Salman Port branch, Riffa’s Al Buhair area branch, and the Expatriate Services Branch in Sitra Industrial Area. The new branch is in addition to providing similar services at the Bahrain International Airport.
