Business pioneers honoured

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board, yesterday attended the fourth edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship, held under his patronage at Isa Cultural Centre and organised by Bahrain’s Labour Fund (Tamkeen).

During the ceremony, HRH the Crown Prince highlighted Bahrain’s outstanding success in advancing entrepreneurship across all sectors. Furthermore, His Royal Highness noted that the continual development of the domestic start-up economy reflects the Kingdom’s efforts to nurture a business environment that fosters creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to sustainable economic growth, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development led by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

In this regard, HRH the Crown Prince stressed that supporting entrepreneurship lies at the heart of the Kingdom’s strategies to further enhance economic performance and global competitiveness, underpinned by the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030’s principles of sustainability, competitiveness and fairness. HRH the Crown Prince went on to note that Bahrain’s startup sector has emerged as a model for entrepreneurship internationally, pioneering innovative solutions and driving sustainable development.

HRH the Crown Prince honoured the eight winners chosen from among 21 participants, commending them for their contribution to economic diversification and innovation within the private sector.

The winners are Ahmed Abdulhameed Alawadhi, Doctori Online Services, (Micro-Enterprise of the Year Award); Abdulla Binhindi, Rashed Alaraifi and Ahmed AlMannai, Shepherd Design Studio Co WLL, (Startup of the Year Award); Nahla Almahmood, LalaBella Events, (SME of the Year Award); Nezar Al Saie, Kalaam Telecom Bahrain BSC, (Enterprise of the Year with International Footprint Award); Mohamed Abdulaal, All Food for Food Stuff, (Sustainability in Business Award) and Shaikha Latifa Mohammed Al Khalifa, Clever Play, (Female Entrepreneur of the Year).

The fourth edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship also included two new categories. The Lifetime Achievement Award, aimed at honouring pioneering personalities in the development of the national economy, which was granted to Farouk Almoayyed; and The Global Enterprise of the Year, aimed at recognising the role of international Bahraini enterprises that showcase Bahraini culture in their business activities, which was awarded to Roaya Jaafar Saleh, for her enterprise Villa Mamas.
