‘Al Janubiya’ application launched
Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, yesterday patronised, at the invitation of Southern Governor, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the inauguration of the smart communication application “Al Janubiya”, launched by the Southern Governorate to improve services.
Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, ministers and senior state officials were present. In a statement, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak expressed thanks and appreciation to the Southern Governor for inviting him to patronise the launch of the application, which is aimed at enhancing communication with the local citizens, as well as providing smart, quick and quality services, valuing highly the Interior Minister’s efforts and directives in this regard.
The deputy premier indicated that the initiative is within the government’s unwavering efforts to upgrade e-services across various sectors so as to keep pace with the rapid developments witnessed by the ICT field, and bring about more achievements and services to the citizens and residents.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak called on government departments to carry on their efforts to develop the ICT sector and promote the knowledge culture to ensure efficiency and save time, which, he said, will support the government’s efforts to achieve comprehensive sustainable development, as well as bring about more progress and prosperity.
HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak for partronising the launch of the “Al Janubiya” application. The governor, in his speech, also said that the Southern Governorate is progressing in various fields during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era, lauding the key role played by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the forward-looking vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
He stressed that the smart application is within the Southern Governorate’s strategy to achieve institutional distinction and ensure direct communication with the citizens, in line with the directives of the Interior Minister to achieve a world-level security, social and development system. HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak officially launched the “Al Janubiya” application, and then a short film highlighting the goals of the application was screened.
The deputy premier also honoured the strategic sponsor, VIVA Bahrain, for their distinguished partnership. Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President, Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, was also presented with a commemorate shield for GPIC’s support for the “Al Janubiya” application.
Then, the Southern Governor presented the Deputy Premier with a commemorative gift for patronising the ceremony. Then, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak toured the exhibition held by the Southern Governorate, to highlight its achievements regarding communication, security and development projects.
