Bahrain globally in top 10 for female start up founders
According to the 2019 Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) Bahrain secured a 9th-11th ranking on an international scale for most number of startups found by women.
StartUp Genome in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Congress annually publishes global statistics on various categories associated with startups worldwide.
With 18 per of its startups founded by women, Bahrain out ranked major countries and cities including Silicon Valley USA, New Zealand, London and Cape Town among others.
Tamkeen’s Chief Executive Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi stated that one of Bahrain's key competitive advantages in the region lies in its firm belief in the importance of women as an active player in shaping Bahrain's economic future.
