Action reloaded: Open Track Night

Manama

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will be welcoming in motorsport enthusiasts from across the Gulf tomorrow another exciting edition of its widely popular Open Track Night.

Dozens of participants from Bahrain and throughout the region regularly participate in the Open Track activity, where they are be able to drive their very own cars or motorbikes along BIC’s world-renowned 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix track.

The experience is as close as it gets to the real racing spectacle at the Grand Prix track as drivers push their vehicles to their very limit on the same circuit raced on in the FIA Formula One World Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Open Track will have the added spectacle of racing under BIC’s state-of-the-art track floodlighting system with action from 4pm to 11pm.

Participants can choose between driving for the full evening or for just half of the evening. The cost to take part for the full evening is BD105 per person, while the drive for half of the evening is BD75.

Those wishing to take part in only a single 30-minute session may do so for BD40. Others in attendance will also have a chance to get in on the action as a passenger of one of the participating cars for BD12 and those who book in advance will get a discount.

Tomorrow’s activity is run to the highest of international safety standards, although participants will still be able to push their cars or motorbikes to their very limit. All vehicles must first go through scrutineering before being allowed to take to the track. Those taking part must also own a valid driver’s licence and must be wearing the appropriate clothing along with closed-toe footwear.
