Bahrain Launches International Center for Creative Economy
Bahrain has taken a major step to boost its creative and cultural sectors with the opening of the International Center for the Creative Orange Economy.
The new center, launched by the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain in partnership with the Rashid Bin Khalifa Arts Foundation and the International Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, aims to position Bahrain as a hub for cultural innovation and creative entrepreneurship.
The center will support artists, designers, and creative innovators through programs in research, training, and international collaboration. It offers co-working spaces, training halls, digital fabrication labs, and facilities for artistic production and exhibitions, providing a complete environment for startups and creative projects.
The initiative aligns with Bahrain’s vision of promoting the creative economy to drive sustainable development, create jobs for youth, encourage innovation, and support social inclusion. It also opens opportunities for creative talent to engage with local, regional, and international markets.
Sheikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, founder of the Rashid Bin Khalifa Arts Foundation, said, “The creative economy is a key driver of sustainable growth. Launching this center shows our commitment to empowering creators and building a leading cultural innovation ecosystem in Bahrain.”
Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of UNIDO’s Bahrain Office, added, “This center reinforces Bahrain’s leadership in the global creative economy. It connects research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, supporting youth, promoting equality, and linking creative projects to international markets.”
The International Center for the Creative Orange Economy marks a new chapter for Bahrain’s cultural and creative sector, strengthening its role in regional and global creative entrepreneurship.
