GOAT India Tour Organiser Satadru Dutta Arrested After Chao

Kolkata Police have arrested Satadru Dutta, the main organiser of Lionel Messi’s GOAT India Tour, following chaos at the Salt Lake Stadium during the event. The arrest was confirmed by West Bengal Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar.

The incident occurred after Argentina captain Lionel Messi reportedly left the stadium earlier than expected, leading to confusion and anger among fans. Many ticket holders demanded refunds, accusing the organisers of mismanagement.

Police officials said Dutta was detained while travelling to Hyderabad. According to authorities, the organiser has given a written assurance that all fans who purchased tickets will be refunded.

Addressing a press conference, ADG (Law and Order) Javed Shamim said that Dutta had already been taken into custody and that the refund process is being initiated. He added that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

DGP Rajeev Kumar stated that a government-appointed committee will examine all aspects of the event, including crowd management and organisational failures. He said the situation is now under control and assured that those responsible will be held accountable.

West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose also confirmed the arrest, stating that the matter is being investigated by the authorities.
