Bahrain Police symbol of ‘loyalty and service to the nation’

HisExcellency Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, praised the Bahrain Police as an “honorable example of loyalty”. Also chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, Dr. Al Zayani commended their role in “defending the security of the homeland efficiently and sincerely while enhancing its developmental and civilizational achievements.” His remarks came on the occasion of today’s Bahrain Police Day, which also marks the 106th anniversary of the police force’s founding and coincides with the Kingdom’s national holidays. H.E. Dr. Al Zayani extended his best wishes to H.E. Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and all members of the Ministry. 

Spirit

He emphasised that the occasion “embodies the spirit of pride and honour in the long history of the Bahraini police and their sincere sacrifices in protecting lives and property, as well as in preserving the security, stability and civilizational gains of the homeland.” The Minister underscored the pivotal role of the Ministry of Interior and its agencies, describing them as “a safety valve and a source of reassurance and safety for citizens, residents and visitors, and a fundamental pillar for supporting the comprehensive and sustainable development process.” He noted that the police have excelled across multiple areas, including civil defense, traffic security, protection of land, sea and air ports, digital transformation, cybersecurity, crime prevention, counter-terrorism, crisis management, and law enforcement.

Contributions

Dr. Al Zayani also highlighted the Ministry’s contributions to human rights initiatives. The Minister said that the police have played an effective role in “implementing the programs of the National Human Rights Plan, spreading the culture of community partnership under the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Consolidate the Values of Citizenship ‘Our Bahrain,’ and enhancing respect for human rights while consolidating justice and the rule of law.” He praised Bahrain Police for their compliance with international human rights standards and police codes of conduct, noting their international recognition.
