Bahrain Strongly Condemns Terror Attack in Palmyra, Syria

The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack near Palmyra, Syria, which targeted Syrian security forces and US personnel, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries. The incident highlights the ongoing threat posed by extremist groups in the region.

In an official statement, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its firm rejection of all forms of terrorism and violence, reaffirming the Kingdom’s solidarity with Syria and the United States. Bahrain extended condolences to the governments and families affected, while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

The attack, confirmed by the US Central Command, killed three Americans—two service members and one civilian translator—and injured three other US service members. The assailant, linked to ISIS, was killed shortly after the attack during an operational mission aimed at preventing ISIS from rebuilding its capabilities.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell noted that US personnel were meeting a key military leader as part of counter-terrorism operations when the attack occurred, highlighting the dangers faced by both military personnel and civilians supporting security missions in conflict zones.

Bahrain emphasized that such acts of terror will not weaken international resolve against extremism. The Kingdom called for continued cooperation among nations to ensure regional and global security, reaffirming that terrorism must be confronted through collective action, vigilance, and commitment to peace and stability.
