Record-Breaking Crowds Attend 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
The 2025 Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix drew a record 339,000 fans to Yas Island, organisers Ethara announced today.
The event featured a thrilling three-way title battle between McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. The on-track action attracted 203,000 fans to Yas Marina Circuit, up nearly 6% from last year’s 192,000. Verstappen won the race, while Norris claimed his first F1 Drivers’ World Championship.
Off the track, the Yasalam entertainment programme drew 136,000 fans across four nights of concerts and official after-parties. Performances included Benson Boone, Elyanna, Post Malone, Metallica, Katy Perry, Idris Elba, Calvin Harris, and Keinemusik. This represented nearly a 9% increase in attendance compared to 2024.
Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, said, “This year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be remembered for decades. We welcomed more fans than ever with world-class entertainment, new hospitality options, on-site activations, and enhanced ticket inclusions, making it an unforgettable weekend. Abu Dhabi continues to be the ultimate destination for the F1 season finale.”
New features this year included extended track access for fans, public pit lane walks, and FAB Track Walks on Thursday, highlighted by Benson Boone’s concert performance. The day became the biggest Thursday in the event’s history.
The event also drew numerous celebrities, including Ana de Armas, Jason Statham, Emily Ratajkowski, Madelaine Petsch, Jessica Chastain, Bill Gates, and sports legends Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, and Jannik Sinner.
Sustainability efforts were strengthened, with temporary solar power tripled across the track and all generators running on biofuel blends. A partnership with UAE-based Ma-Hawa produced over 260,000 litres of water on-site, avoiding the use of more than 520,000 plastic bottles.
With record-breaking crowds, top-tier entertainment, and a historic championship battle, the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marked the largest and most exciting edition to date, capping the 75th season of Formula 1 racing.
