iGA and Royal Academy of Police Celebrate Winners of 2025 AI GameDay Challenge
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Police (RAP), honored the winning teams of the 2025 AI GameDay Challenge, a competition for university students from across Bahrain. The event was held in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with support from stc Bahrain.
The AI GameDay Challenge aims to advance digital innovation, develop AI and cloud computing skills, and prepare students for the future digital landscape. Seventeen teams, each consisting of three to five students, participated in the competition, showcasing creativity, analytical thinking, and innovative solutions.
iGA Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed said, “The AI GameDay Challenge is a national platform that empowers students with skills in innovation and problem-solving using AI and cloud technologies. It aligns with the Kingdom’s vision to equip youth with knowledge and hands-on experience to lead Bahrain’s digital transformation.”
Major General Fawaz Hasan Al Hasan, Commandant of the Royal Academy of Police, highlighted the Academy’s role in supporting youth development and innovation, emphasizing the importance of preparing students with future-ready skills.
Shaikh Zeyad bin Faisal Al Khalifa, Chief Government Affairs Officer at stc Bahrain, praised the competition for fostering collaboration and helping young Bahrainis gain expertise in AI and cloud computing.
The competition featured three main stages:

Mystery Code – Students created applications that convert text descriptions into images and generated content.

Unicorn Voice – Teams learned to analyze long calls and extract key information automatically.

Unicare – Participants worked with medical data to improve healthcare workflows.
The winners received cash prizes supported by stc Bahrain: BD1,500 for first place (M&M’s Team), BD1,000 for second place (Cloud Unicorns Team), and BD500 for third place (Tech Team). Teams placing fourth to eighth were offered specialized training courses through the UNDP’s Arab Knowledge Project to further develop their skills.
Al Qaed concluded, “The competition provides a practical environment for students to turn knowledge into real applications, shaping a generation ready to lead Bahrain into the digital age.”
