Nation honours police efforts in safeguarding security, safety and stability
Bahrain Police Day is a “precious national occasion” reflecting the vital role of the police in safeguarding security, stability and the rule of law.
This was emphasised by Dr Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, Chairman of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development Board of Trustees. The event is observed annually on December 14 in conjunction with National Day celebrations and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne. He said the occasion allows the nation to “remember the pivotal role played by the Bahrain Police in maintaining security, peace and stability, preserving national achievements and consolidating the rule of law in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” stressing that the force remains a cornerstone of national stability.
Congratulations
Dr Al-Rumaihi extended his highest congratulations to HM the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, praising the leadership’s continued support for the police.
He said this backing has contributed to developing the force’s capabilities and enhancing its readiness to meet the highest professional and security standards. Dr Al-Rumaihi also commended the "qualitative achievements” of the Bahrain Police, noting marked progress in performance, equipment and professionalism, which he said reflects the efficiency, discipline and sense of responsibility of Bahraini personnel who carry out their duties with dedication and sincerity.
Appreciation
He further congratulated His Excellency Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and all Ministry of Interior personnel, expressing deep appreciation for their efforts in strengthening security and stability.
Dr Al-Rumaihi said the Bahrain Police would “remain a source of pride and honour for all citizens, and a model of national commitment and advanced institutional work.”
Progress
Meanwhile, MP Khalid Saleh Buanaq praised the “qualitative development and professional progress” achieved by the Bahraini police across all sectors throughout its more than 106- year history. Marking Bahrain Police Day, the lawmaker extended congratulations to HM King hamad and HRH Prince Salman. MP Buanaq said he was proud of the efforts and sacrifices of security personnel under the leadership of the Interior Minister, affirming that the police deliver a “dedicated national performance” in maintaining security and stability.
Work
He highlighted their work through advanced strategic planning, high operational readiness and disciplined law enforcement, while “respecting human rights and promoting community partnership within a comprehensive security system.” He also paid tribute to fallen officers, recording “deep reverence, sincere loyalty and appreciation for the righteous martyrs of duty, who gave their lives in the fields of honour and dignity,” and prayed for mercy upon them.
