Bomb hoax: Youth pleads not guilty
Manama
A 23-year-old defendant implicated in connection with a bomb hoax pleaded not guilty yesterday to his charges. The Bahraini suspect, who is standing trial before the High Criminal Court, is said to have placed a fake bomb near a Muharraq hotel on January 29. The object was too identical to an explosive device that bomb experts were sent to the scene to examine it.
It's said that the device was connected with wires that end in a thermometer, and the suspect told prosecutors during questioning that the device was constructed in Sanad, and the thermometer was taken from a bicycle.
"We prepared the fake bomb in Sanad. When we finished it, we transported to Muharraq using my sister's car during the sunset. We then put the device in front of the hotel entrance and we fled," the defendant said. His trial was adjourned yesterday until October 14 for review.
