Housing Ministry Extends Expired Finance Certificates by 3 Months
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has announced a new regulatory measure to automatically renew expired housing finance eligibility certificates for an additional three months.
The decision applies to all certificates that expired during March and April this year, with no need for beneficiaries to take any action or visit service centers.
The ministry stated that this step is part of its efforts to enhance flexibility and simplify procedures, helping beneficiaries complete the requirements for obtaining housing finance more easily—especially under current exceptional circumstances. The move ensures continuity in processing applications and allows citizens to access housing finance services smoothly even after certificate expiry.
The automatic renewal covers several key financing programs, including “Tas’heel” in all its categories, “Tas’heel Plus,” and both types of the “Mazaya” program. These programs are among the ministry’s primary solutions designed to support citizens in home ownership through accessible and subsidized financing options.
According to the ministry, extending certificate validity will give beneficiaries additional time to finalize procedures such as selecting housing units or meeting lender requirements. This is expected to improve efficiency and reduce administrative challenges faced by applicants.
The ministry added that the initiative reflects ongoing government efforts to simplify services, adopt digital solutions, and implement proactive measures that prioritize citizens’ needs. It reaffirmed its commitment to continuously reviewing and updating policies in line with best practices and evolving circumstances.
