Kidnappers assault victim after taking to remote area

Manama : Quite resembling a Hollywood drama, a disagreement between two men led one to kidnap the other before attacking him in a remote place, court files revealed. According to police records, the alleged attacker had quarrelled with the victim and the accused took revenge by kidnapping him with four men to a remote area, where they assaulted him with planks. It’s claimed that they abducted him from a cold store in Manama.

“Three of them held me, and the other two hurled punches at me. I tried to resist them, but I couldn’t because of their number. I had BD800 at the time of the attack and a mobile phone which they stole from me,” he added.

The culprits abandoned the victim at the scene while he was unconscious, and one of his friends found him. “I discovered that he had gone missing and began searching for him. After a couple of hours, I saw him lying on the ground,” his friend told prosecutors. The attackers were later arrested by police, and they confirmed before prosecutors that they assaulted the victim. They have been charged with abduction and assault. They will appear before the High Criminal Court on September 5, 2018.
