Shedding light on Madiba’s life
The United Nations Information Centre for Gulf States in cooperation with Mashq Art Space will host a celebration to mark the International Nelson Mandela Day today.
The celebration will mark the 100th birth anniversary of great South African leader, who fought against racial discrimination. The special event, which will begin at Mashq Art Space at 7.00pm will include a brief introduction about Nelson Mandela’s life and achievements.
Speaking to Tribune, UNIC director Samir Imtair Aldarabi, said, “The centenary is an occasion to reflect on his life and legacy, and to follow his call to make the world a better place.”
“The Nelson Mandela Foundation is dedicating this year’s Mandela Day to act against poverty, honouring Mandela’s leadership and devotion to fight poverty and promote social justice for all. The celebration is open to all public. A musical event along with a documentary showcasing the life of Mandela will be screened.”
