Sold out caps!
Manama : Much like in every Bahrain Grand Prix, this year too saw the F1 merchandise being sold off like hot cakes as thousands visited the welcome centre in BIC to buy merchandise representing their favourite teams.
It has become a tradition to walk away with something that depicts an F1 fan’s loyalty to a certain team and race car driver and this year the hottest selling item was the Mercedes baseball cap.
A popular souvenir item in Bahrain, baseball caps and t-shirts are always on the highest demand, including the Bahrain International Circuit labelled caps.
Stu Cowie, a diehard F1 fan visits Bahrain every year for the F1 and always buys a souvenir shirt, representing his favourite team – Scuderia Ferrari. “It’s a given to go home with something that will serve as a memento of my presence at the event. I am a Ferrari fan and always buy a shirt from here,” he shared with DT News.
A sales representative informed that the top two teams when it comes to merchandise purchase are in fact, Ferrari and Mercedes.
She said: “While shirts and caps are the most commonly picked items, others chose to go for die-cast metal models of the race cars, electronic devices, key chains and others. It is always a full house every year and this year the Mercedes baseball caps were all sold out on the second day itself.”
