Oil discovery to boost development: HRH PM

Manama Bahrain will use the revenues from the mega tight-oil and deep gas discovery “for serving development and boosting citizens’ welfare,” said His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. 

The discovery of the new oil field in Bahrain, HRH the Premier said, will usher in a new phase of development for Bahrain and back the government’s ambitious plans to boost citizens’ welfare and further promote Bahrain’s elevated status.

Speaking while receiving Arab ambassadors and Heads of the diplomatic missions, led by Dean of the diplomatic corps in Bahrain Kuwaiti Ambassador Shaikh Azam Mubarak Al Sabah at Gudaibiya Palace, HRH the Premier described the discovery as “the dividend of the noble directives of His Majesty the King and the fruitful efforts of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince”. 

The Premier also underlined the importance of the Arab Summit which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia this month, expressing confidence in the ability of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to make the summit meet the aspirations of the peoples in the region for security, stability and growth. 

HRH the Prime Minister expressed hope the next Arab Summit would further promote pan-Arab work and foster unity in facing various challenges. 

HRH the Premier hailed the current external tour of the Saudi Crown Prince which included visiting Egypt, the UK, the USA and France, stressing its success at all political, economic and military levels.

Prince Khalifa pointed out Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation with all GCC and Arab countries at all political, economic and cultural levels, commending the efforts of the GCC and Arab ambassadors to strengthen ties binding their countries with Bahrain.

The Dean of the diplomatic corps Kuwaiti Ambassador Shaikh Azam Mubarak Al Sabah extended heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HRH the Premier for his keenness to consolidate pan-Arab work, and congratulated Bahrain on the new oil discovery, expressing hope it will support the kingdom’s development efforts.
