Alpha One Medical fund

Manama : Alpha One Medical Fund, a close ended Pharma Fund, was launched yesterday at a ceremony held at Amwaj Islands. 

The fund is a result of a collaboration between Sram & Mram Resources Limited, a conglomerate based out of Bahrain and Proviva Pharma Inc., Canada, a healthcare major at the Gulf Residence, Amwaj Islands, Bahrain. 

Commenting on the launch, in a joint statement, Sram & Mram Resources and Proviva Pharma Inc said: “Pharmaceutical and healthcare industries across the world have been looking for a new revolution which has not happened in the past 20 years.”

“We have not seen a new invention in the fields of medicine. The healthcare industry is about to witness a new order with the launch of the Alpha one medical fund.”

The objective of the Global Pharma fund, according to Dr Sailesh Lachu Hiranandani, Chairman, Sram & Mram, would be investing and incubating new pharmaceuticals innovations. Gene Therapy, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and nanotechnology are the areas of interest. 

He added: The fund would also work to create synergies between various companies performing clinical trials and may also be used to set up one of the best clinical trial institutes in India and ASEAN countries.

Hailing the efforts of Dr Satya Prakash, President, Proviva Pharma Inc. in this regard, Dr Hiranandani, said: “Indians have been at the forefront on medical innovations and Dr Satya Prakash is an example of how Indians have risen through the ranks in any fields of excellence.”

In his comments, Dr Satya Prakash said his “efforts would never have reached the zenith without the efforts of his team.” Proviva, he said, is committed to providing the best of medical help to all the needy people. 

The fund would be coordinated by Yamini Shrishti Swami, Shivani Joshi under the guidance of Natesh Sharma. 

Commenting on the move, Directors of Sram & Mram Renuka Pullat and Manoj Todi said future looks bright for the medical fraternity and hope this heralds a new era in the annals of the medical fraternity.”  

The event was attended by Gurujee Kumaran Swami, a renowned religious figure from India. He praised the initiative and wished all success.
