Bahrainis ready for Asian Games

Manama : The first batch of the Bahrain delegation head to Turkmenistan today for the Fifth edition of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat which start on Sunday and conclude on September 27.

Bahrain will compete in three sports disciplines – jiu jitsu, taekwondo and wrestling. The jiu jitsu team will be the first in Ashgabat and the squad includes administrator Ahmed Janahi, coach Reza Monfaradi, athletes Ali Ibrahimi, Mohammed Abu Idris, Ahmed Mansoor, Nejad Al Gusaibi and Ali Monfaradi.

Head Coach Tawfeeq Nuwaiser will lead the taekwondo team, which departs on Friday and includes, Wala Al Dossary, Juana Mousa and Jumana Mousa.

Adam Batirov will be the only athlete representing Bahrain in wrestling and the former Asian wrestling champion, is being coached by Mahmood Magomedov.

Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation president Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa will head the Bahrain delegation.
