Bahrain blasts Al Jazeera

Manama : Security authorities yesterday hit out against Qatar’s Al Jazeera for falsely accusing Bahrain of human rights violations.

“The alleged human rights organisations that claim systematic torture in Bahrain are unknown and imaginary, besides they lack credibility,” state news agency BNA said in a statement yesterday quoting security agencies.

Referring to anonymous human rights organisations that issue anonymous statements, the security agencies said that they lack credibility and are issued for malicious purposes.

The security agencies  said that some of the names mentioned as activists in those reports are fugitives and others are involved in terrorist cases pending trials at Bahrain’s courts.

Pledging to take legal action against Al Jazeera and those issuing canards, they said that the charges in the reports are false and baseless and aimed at harming peace in the Bahraini society.

“Adaptation of Al Jazeera channel to malicious reports and dedication to intensively release them indicate that those reports are part of the historical Qatari conspiracy against Bahrain and its people, and reveal the strong cooperation between the channel with its political agenda and the media sources of Vali-ye-Faqih (Guardian Jurist) against Gulf countries and nationals,” they said.

 “The security authorities are committed to their duties, including the protection of security and stability. The dispensation of justice are based on the Constitution and the laws. 

The UN Human Rights Council was told  that all police stations are equipped with CCTVs to monitor all their operations,” the authorities said.
