NIHR complaints panel holds meeting
Manama : The Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) held its third regular meeting under the chairmanship of Deena Abdulrahman Alladhi, and members Khaled Abdulaziz Al Shaer and Rawdha Salman Al Aradi.
The meeting reviewed the complaints and assistance requests submitted to the NIHR since the committee’s last meeting, and the procedures taken regarding them.
It also reviewed the preliminary vision of the logistics work plan on the establishment of special complaints boxes in public places to enhance the NIHR’s role of protecting of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as stipulated in its law.
The panel also reviewed a number of human rights issues, and ways to activate them through cooperation with parties with whom memoranda of understanding had been signed, for the sake of consolidating human rights and promoting their principles, within the framework of the Kingdom’s commitment to the covenants, principles and treaties regulating those rights.
