Chief of Standardization and Metrology Mona Alalawi said that the Directorate of Standardization and Metrology has listed these tools within the games regardless of their actual classification because they are used by children. These products will be subject to children’s game technical regulations.

Alalawi stressed that the game may sometimes pose a danger to children. These products may contain small detachable parts that cause children to choke or may contain small lithium batteries that the child can reach or parts may contain small magnetic balls that kids may swallow them.

She added that such tools have been entering our markets routinely as office tools.

However, lately become so popular and turnout by children is more than adults.

It should be noted that GCC toys technical regulations applied uniformly in the GCC and has been applied in the Kingdom since 2011, and was updated in 2015 to accommodate the development and multiplicity of games and materials in the manufacture.
