New book to improve school mathematics

ManamaMathematics is a hard nut to crack for most students. To address this problem and improve the school mathematics curriculam, Dr. Masooma Al Mutawah has come out with a book entitled ‘Developing Bahrain Future Schools Mathematics’. The book is published by Lambert Academic Publishing in Germany. 

The book presents a framework for improving school mathematics curricula in conformity with Bahrain Quality Standards, and to support and direct changes in the educational field essential for meeting the needs of individuals and the community.  

Dr. Al Mutawah, a multi-faceted personality, is an assistant professor at Bahrain Teachers College under the University of Bahrain. 

She received her Postgraduate Certificate for Academic Practice and a Fellowship from the HEA in the UK in 2014. She has actively served the teaching community through participation in radio and television awareness programmes, conducting training workshops and giving educational lectures for institutes, schools and NGOs.

She has taken part in several international scientific conferences and has published several studies in international journals in the USA, Canada, Germany, UK, Australia, Singapore and other countries. 

She has published a chapter in the Advanced Arabic literary reader, 2016, published by Routledge and funded by Yale University in USA. 

In addition to her academic activities, Dr. Masooma has been a story writer since 1995 and has published eight novels so far besides several articles in newspapers and
magazines. 

Dr. Al-Mutawah, considered the first female scriptwriter in the Bahrain, has also written for TV series, some of which were produced by major Arab television channels.
