‘Who’s Who’ directory launched
Manama : Sunliz Publication yesterday launched the Bahrain edition of ‘Who’s Who’ directory at a function held at Four Seasons Hotel here.
The 750-page print and online directory includes the profiles of the island’s most prominent public figures, decision-makers and business tycoons along brief history of Bahrain.
Sunliz Publications’ Managing Director and journalist, Sunny Kulathakal, who has been the face of the ‘Who’s Who Directory’ for more than four decades, put the book together over a period of 40 years.
“Collecting all these rare stories and details about some of the most influential families and leaders in the Kingdom was a herculean task but I kept it going for 40 long years and here we are at this ostentatious launch,” said Sunny Kulathakal.
“My aim has always been to inspire people rather than gain commercial benefits. I truly believe a true leader’s role is to raise people’s aspirations and motivate them to take up leadership roles in various arenas. Thus, this edition is a glowing tribute to all such inspiring visionaries and a source of inspiration for all dreamers in the region,” Kulathakal added.
International bestselling author and motivational speaker, Shiv Khera delivered a speech on “How to win” at the event.
The launch was attended by International Advertising Association’s worldwide member and Bahrain Chapter’s President, Khamis Al Muqla, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador Saj Mendis, Asianet News Editor-in-chief, M G Radhakrishnan and the Business Editor of Khaleej Times, Issac John.
Major sections of the book are dedicated to Bahrain’s main industry players, educational institutions, media and publication houses and social-welfare organizations.
In line with the Kingdom’s Formula 1 craze, the book also includes a special feature on the “Bahrain International Circuit – the home of motorsport in the Middle East”.
The first ‘Who’s Who’ directory was published in 1978 and since then Kulathakal has been compiling stories, pictures and features of different families and powerful individuals in the Gulf to create his catalogue.
The directory launch was hosted by Sunliz Publication in cooperation with the IAA Bahrain Chapter.
It also announced Shiv Khera as the ambassador of Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), the only UN accredited global organization from India.
