Matsushita sets the pace

Manama : Nobuharu Matsushita (one minute 41.165 seconds topped the time sheet yesterday on the first day of Formula 2 pre-season testing at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.

The ART Grand Prix driver clocked the fastest time on his very last lap, right as the wet afternoon session was wrapping up for the day.

The best lap time was slightly quicker than the best lap of the morning session of 1:41.454, clocked by Charles Leclerc of PREMA Racing.

Jordan King (1:41.634) of MP Motorsport was third on combined times which was registered.

Luca Ghiotto of Russian Time was classified fourth with a fastest lap of 1:41.700. Norman Nato of Pertamina Arden followed in fifth place with a 1:41.718 lap, while Louis Deletraz of Racing Engineering came sixth with a time of 1:41.958. All three drivers had their best marks in the day’s opening session.
