Kids to enjoy world of wonders at Bahrain GP

ManamaBahrain International Circuit (BIC) has put together a world of wonders for children to enjoy while attending the 2017 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

The kids’ activities make for one of the biggest parts of the off-track entertainment at the annual Formula 1 extravaganza, which this year is scheduled for April 14 to 16 in Sakhir. It will be the third of 20 rounds on the 2017 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

BIC has made it a point to make the Bahrain Grand Prix as accessible and enjoyable for children of all ages. Just as it is every year, toddlers aged under three years old can get into the circuit for free.

Then, there is a 50 per cent discount on tickets prices for youngsters aged three to 12.

This year’s line-up of kids’ attractions include colourful shows, interactive workshops and a wide variety of outdoor activities.

Shows 

The shows include an Amazing Bubble Show, a Drumming Puppet and spectacular Magic and Dance Shows.

The Bubble Show features various bubble tricks of every form and size, performed by the supremely talented and bubbly Dr. Bubbles. The Drumming Puppet is a ground-breaking entertainer who is always present at international festivals in Europe and the Americas.

Gary James and Ricky McLeod are award-winning professional family entertainers who put together a fast-paced, action-packed magical show. 

The lovable dance show features showcases the skills of The Dancing Grannies group. They are a comedy theatre company based in the UK who put on wacky dances involving traditional Bhangra and modern routines.

Workshops

The kids’ workshops include the Dance Dollz and Once Upon-a-Singalong, Time Quest and a Bubble Workshop.

Dance Dollz and Once Upon-a-Singalong are interactive shows that are always a huge hit with audiences of all ages. They bring colour, fun and storytelling through song and dance.

Time Quest is an interactive performance that tells the story of Liv, a time-travelling spy from the future, who has travelled back to 2017 to save her city from an alien invasion. She must recruit and train a team of spies, who will be tasked to reconstruct the Time Machine (Imagination Playground), build up the Balloon Power (balloon rocket race cars), and save the (Playdough) city!

 The Bubble Workshop is conducted by professional Bubble enthusiasts. This highly anticipated interactive activity will allow children to create their own bubbles using friendly tools to master the tricks of forming assorted sizes and shapes.

Outdoor Activities

The outdoor activities include a Sensory Zone, Mumbo Tumbo Drum Beats, Badge Caricaturists, Face Painting and Pop the Balloon Man.

The Sensory Zone features “Parachute Play”, where a big, colourful parachute acts as a prop to use for the younger crowd. This activity encourages social interaction and working as a team, developing language, rhythm, and practising taking turns.

Mumbo Tumbo Drum Beats is a high-energy, action-packed activity for kids that combines drumming, singing and dancing.

Badge Caricaturists are pioneers in producing mini caricatures on badges, fridge magnets and pocket mirrors, while the face painting will be done by Rita Cherry, a professional face and body painter who has turned the activity into an art.

Pop the Balloon Man is now a veteran of the Bahrain Grand Prix, having performed here for the last four years. 

His work is just as incredible to adults as it is to children, as his skills with a couple of balloons and a balloon pump never fail to amaze.

All these and so much more are available for children to enjoy all through the Grand Prix weekend.
