Man arrested for robbing woman
Manama : Police yesterday arrested a man a day after he robbed, assaulted and dumped an Asian woman in the desert.
Southern Governorate Police Director General Colonel Mubarak Abdulla Al Merri confirmed in a statement circulated yesterday that the culprit was arrested within 24 hours of receiving a notification informing that an Asian woman was found with a serious head injury in Sakhir area on Sunday.
“The victim was attacked and her phone and money were robbed before she was dumped in Sakhir. Shortly after the case was reported, the police rushed to the scene and the ambulance took the woman to the hospital,” Col. Al Merri said, adding that legal proceedings are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
