Horse racing: Six races today
Manama : Six Cup races are scheduled today with BD71,000 in prize money up for grabs starting from 3.20pm in the 19th and richest race meeting of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
The richest two races are worth BD20,000 each, with two races, the fifth race at 5pm for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup open to locally bred three years and upwards over 2,400 metres and the sixth at 5.25pm also for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup open to imported three years and upwards (no apprentices) over 2,400 metres.
The other main race is the second worth BD15,000 for the HH Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) Cup for Arabian Horses, Fourth Class and Maidens over 1,400 metres starting at 3.45pm.
The other three races are: the first race at 3.20pm for the High Committee Cup worth BD2,000, the third race at 4.10pm is for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup worth BD7,000 and the fourth race at 4.35pm is the Al Methaq Cup also worth BD7,000.
