Bahrain, Russia to boost ties
Manama : Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, received Ambassador of the Russian Federation Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Vagif Garaev, yesterday.
Shaikh Abdulrahman praised the constantly-growing and evolving bilateral ties in various fields, lauding the ambassador’s huge efforts in this aspect. He expressed pride in the Supreme Council’s close relations with Islamic institutions in the Russian Federation Republic.
The two sides reviewed the outcomes of mutual visits between the respective Islamic institutions in both countries, pointing out that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed in the foreseeable future between the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs and the Russian Council of Muftis.
The ambassador expressed his admiration of the leading Bahraini model represented by the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in its goals, and his appreciation of Shaikh Abdulrahman for this meeting and keenness on consolidating the bilateral ties with Muslim institutions in the Russian Federation.
