Shaikh Khalid, Kerala CM open BKS 70th anniversary

ManamaMinister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa along with Chief Minister of Indian state, Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the year-long platinum jubilee celebrations of the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) yesterday.

Lighting the ceremonial lamp, the Kerala Chief Minister said, “I have a great honour of bringing the warm greeting of Kerala  to you.”

“The BKS, considered to be one of the prestigious organizations in GCC, is endlessly endeavouring to enhance its founding principles from the time of its inception”, he added.

In response to warm greeting from Pinarayi Vijayan, the Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid expressed his gratitude and honour to the Chief Minister of Kerala.

The Foreign Minster remembered his  visit to the Indian state Kerala during last year and said, “I remember going to Kerala in late 2016 to visit my nanny. It was a wonderful experience. I felt the warmth, the love and the care of the Keralite community.”

The function was attended by by President of HRH the Crown Prince’s Court, Shaikh Khalifa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Alok Kumar Sinha, Ambassador of India to Bahrain, prominent businessmen and other dignitaries.

The inauguration ceremony was followed by a dance felicitation titled ‘Ganesham’, casting 35 artistes depicting the influence of Kerala in Indian Culture.
