Inventors earn glory to Kingdom
Manama : Competing with nearly 200 inventors across the globe young masterminds brought fame to the country, winning two gold and three silver medals in the prestigious International Invention Fair of the Middle East (IIFME).
There were five official entries from the Kingdom, each in different categories and all entries won medals and appreciation.
Ahmed Abdulaziz Ashoor, Faisal Husain Ali Husain Abdulmalek, Ebrahim Rashid Ali Hasan and Abdulla Mohammed Jasim Fakhroo, inventors of Smart Steamer, and Zainab AbdulHusain Bushail inventor of Automatic Splint Device won gold in the recently concluded event.
Automatic Splint Device, categorised under Medicine-Surgery-orthopaedist- Materials for the Handicap is an automated casting device.
Smart Steamer, an automated steam to iron clothes, which competed under the Cloth-Textiles-Machine accessories category also won a special award from the Taiwan science club.
Smart Gas System, Smart Washing Machine and DM Guidance were the inventions to bag silvers.
Smart Gas System, invented by Tasneem Mohammed Yousif, competed under the category of Computer Science-Software- Electronics - Electricity – Communication is a Robot that can detect explosive gases remotely. The invention was also awarded an excellent scientific award in inventions by the Kuwait Science Club.
Smart Washing Machine, invented by Salman Abdulla AlSulaiti and Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar, competed under the category of Domestic Science –Restaurant equipment is a smart washing machine for elder and disabled persons.
DM Guidance, invented by Aiman Wahab AlSahwe categorised under Medicine -Surgery-orthopaedist- Materials for the Handicap, is a device for diabetic patients as it aims to increase awareness to improve life of diabetes.
IIFME is the second biggest international inventions exhibition after the international exhibition in Geneva. This unique convention in the Middle East was received with great importance locally, regionally, and internationally.
It highlighted the inventions, innovations and creativity of youths.

Also, special thanks to Bahrain’s Innovations Center for supporting and helping us during our journey,” said Khalid Janahi, Bahrain delegation leader for the event.
