‘Joint efforts needed to reinforce security’

ManamaJoint efforts between Bahrain and India are needed to achieve further regional security and face security challenges, said  Minister of Interior Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. 

The statements were made as Shaikh Rashid received Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, V K Singh yesterday. The meeting discussed topics related to security and stability in the region. 

The leaders talked about the activation of a joint agreement that aims to enhance the performance of security authorities, in addition to the reinforcement and coordination of cyber security.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Interior Minister, Chief of Public Security, Interior Minister Undersecretary, Southern Governor and Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Alok Kumar Sinha.

The leaders hailed the distinguished ties and strong partnership between the two countries in different sectors, highlighting the exchange of visits and expertise to
develop security cooperation and achievements of joints goals.

The Minister also lauded the contributions of Indian community’s role in the Bahrain police, noting that Bahrainis and Indians represent prestigious civilisations based on openness and mutual respect.

The Indian Minister expressed gratitude  for the care and services provided by the Interior Minister to the Indian community in Bahrain.

The Interior Ministry of Bahrain had visited India in December 2015 and signed a cooperation agreement between the two countries in different security aspects.
