Hunainiyah Water Station Set for 2027

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan and Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa inspected progress on the Al Hunainiyah Water Distribution Station project in Riffa on Tuesday.

The BD14.5 million project aims to strengthen Bahrain's water distribution network and meet rising demand in the Southern Governorate.

The station will include a 10 million imperial gallon ground-level reservoir, with space reserved for a second reservoir of the same capacity, along with a 1.25 million imperial gallon elevated reservoir serving East Riffa.

The facility will also be equipped with advanced remote monitoring and control systems to improve the efficiency and reliability of water distribution.

The project is scheduled for completion and entry into service in December 2027.

During the visit, Humaidan said the project is part of ongoing efforts to expand and modernise water infrastructure to meet both current and future needs.

He also thanked the Southern Governor for his continued follow-up of service projects and efforts to improve services for residents.
