Kingdom extends support to Palestinian people

ManamaOn the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa affirmed full support to the establishment of a Palestinian State with the Holy Quds as its capital city and urged the international Community to strive in restoring peace in Palestine.

“The Palestinian cause is central and of greatest concern to the international community as Israel continues its ongoing oppressive practices on the occupied Palestinian territories and recurrent assaults on Al Aqsa Mosque, without the least consideration of its sanctity in addition to the tightened siege on Gaza Strip,” HM King stated.

King Hamad further added that the day of solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian People reflects the keenness of the United Nations and that of the international community towards the Palestinian cause and the firm commitment to see the Palestinians achieve their legitimate aspirations for regaining rights.

Expressing worry on the ongoing Israeli practices, the King stated that they represent flagrant violations of the United Nations resolutions, without considering the extent of painful human sufferings inflicted on the Palestinian People. The storming of the Blessed Aqsa Mosque and the ban imposed on the performance of prayers and daily religious rituals of the Muslims was also condemned.

“It is of great importance for the international community and friendly countries to intensify their efforts and continue action at international level to pressure Israel and compel it to halt these barefaced aggressions on the Palestinian territories and to oblige it to commit itself to the references of the Peace Process,” HM King stated.
