How was ‘Raasta’ formed ?

Mohsin : Before the band was formed, we were all doing music on our own. Billal was affiliated with musicians in Pakistan whereas Hamad and me were part of different bands. One day when we all met, we found that all of us are playing the same genre and we shared the same zeal and enthusiasm for music. And as luck would have it we decided to pursue our passion together and that is how Raasta was formed.

When did you discover your passion for music?

Mohsin: Music was always a part of life since our childhood and as we grew we realised that music succeeds where words fail. We discovered that music is one of those medium that has no boundaries.

What is the message you intend to convey through your works ?

Bilal: We try to make music that communicates common experiences that everyone may go through in life. We make music that people can connect with. Every song might question or motivate the listener to move forward in life. It is about moving ahead on your selected raasta(path) with positivity.

How well have you been received in Bahrain?

Hamad : We feel blessed that we are based in Bahrain. Bahrain is a multi cultured country. It accepts everything with open heart. So far we have been well accepted by the people of Bahrain and we want to keep on doing music for ourselves. We had a great opportunity to perform at many mainstream events and were accepted by the local and expat community.

What are you working on right now?

Mohsin: We have completed two new tracks. One of them is titled ‘Azad’ was recently premiered on the radio and currently we are working on the production of their videos.
