Drug abuse: appeal rejected

A 29-year-old person convicted in connection with a substance abuse case had his appeal rejected before the High Criminal Appeals Court.
The appellant was nabbed with his 31-year-old friend from the latter's home while taking illicit drugs.
According to court files, it was the friend’s brother who informed police after finding them in an abnormal state.
Drug abuse tools were also seized from them at the time of their arrest.
Both of them were earlier sentenced to one year behind bars and fined BD500, but only the convict appealed the High Criminal Court's verdict.
They were earlier held guilty of using unlawful drugs.
