Historic Adhari water spring to be reopened

ManamaThe historic Adhari water spring will be reopened to public on August 1, officials announced recently.

During an inspection visit to the spring in the Capital Governorate, Capital General Secretariat General Director Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said the facility will be open to the public from 9am to 12pm and 3pm to 6pm.

“Adhari water spring is a historical monument of the Kingdom and reopening this project would promote the culture of water sports among a large segment of the youth,” he said.

“Once the ongoing maintenance works are completed, the water spring is expected to host around 400 individuals a day (200 in each period),” the official added.

Shaikh Mohammed explained that maintenance works include replacing the old water pumps, purifying the spring water, refilling the cracks inside the pool and replacing the lights.

“There will be four paramedics assigned at the facility at all times, in addition to three food and beverage outlets. It will also have a prayer room, changing rooms and parking lots, which can accommodate around 200 cars,” he explained.
