Cabinet lauds success of HM King’s visit to Egypt

Manama : The Cabinet yesterday lauded the success of the recent visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Egypt, noting that the Royal visit reflects the distinguished status of HM the King.

The session welcomed the fruitful outcomes of the talks held between HM King Hamad and the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, stressing that the signing of 20 government and 14 private sector agreements during the visit confirms the keenness of the two countries on strengthening cooperation.

Chaired by Prime Minster HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and attended by the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Cabinet also lauded the recent visit of HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco to Bahrain.

The positive outcomes of the visit affirms the two countries’ desire to continue developing cooperation, Cabinet Secretary General Dr. Yasser bin Essa Al Naser said in a statement following the session, held at the Gudaibiya Palace.

Aleppo attack condemned

The Cabinet condemned the brutal attacks on civilians and hospitals in Aleppo, Syria, that killed and injured hundreds. 

It urged the international community to respond decisively to those crimes against humanity and to provide protection and basic services for innocent civilians.

Cost cutting

As part of the government’s efforts to reduce costs and rationalise expenditure, the session approved a proposal to re-structure the Informatics and e-Government Authority. 

Under the proposal, submitted by the Deputy Premier and Deputy Chairman of the Civil Service Council, the number of assistant undersecretaries will decrease from six to four, while the number of directorates will go down from 21 to 16.
