GPIC sets an example in empowerment of woman
Manama : Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company’s (GPIC) efforts to enhance the role of Bahraini women and allow them access to leadership positions have become an example to follow for other Gulf States, said Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Yousef Abdullah Al Benyan.
He said this while visiting GPIC where he was received by its President, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, members of the Executive Management and Labour Union Deputy Chairman.
Al Benyan also said that GCC’s Petrochemical Industry should take steps to meet the challenges they are facing while maintaining the highest standards of security and occupational safety.
He spoke about the rapid changes the world had witnessed and stressed the need to keep up with these by developing future plans and expansion projects. He also praised the Company’s Labour Union and its role in supporting the development and growth as well as a commitment to its prosperity. The visit part of mutual co-operation between the two Companies. Dr. Jawahery conveyed to the visitors the greetings of GPIC Chairman and the members of the Board of Directors and spoke about Sabic’s leading role in the field of the Petrochemical Industry, which contributes to its pole position of the GCC industry.
The delegation toured various facilities within the Complex, including the Academy of Leadership and Learning to take a look at its special courses for employees as well as for university students. They also visited the e-learning centre, looked at the production and export operations as well as toured different environmental projects within the complex.
The delegation expressed admiration at the facilities within the Complex and praised the successful cooperation among GCC countries in the industrial field.
