Manama : The High Criminal Court handed down a 16-year-old boy, one year in jail for participating in an arson attack in Manama.

Police officers said that the culprits attacked them with firebombs when they arrived in the area to remove the burning containers and restore order. However, nobody got injured, according to court files.

The defendant was arrested after police investigations found  that he was involved in the incident.

“I received a message from someone named A. He asked me to participate and record the incident. At the scene, there were people I haven’t met before. I recorded what happened, and I sent the footage to him,” the defendant told prosecutors.

Prosecutors charged him with arson, participating in an illegal gathering and using firebombs.
