Bahrain Awareness Award praised

Manama

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Chief Executive Officer Osama Al-Absi stressed the importance of Bahrain Awards for Community Awareness (Bahrain Awareness Awards), which will be presented today to the winners.

"The Bahrain Award for Community Awareness (Human Too) was launched last December (2014) as part of the LMRA–led efforts to promote the relation bonding employers and workers," Al-Absi said.

He said the award essentially targets people aged 16 to 26 years, to encourage them to enter the contest and contribute an artwork.

"The annual award was launched by LMRA under the theme; "Human Too" with the aim of projecting a positive and effective image that contributes to raising community awareness on the rights of workers", he added.

He pointed out HRH the Crown Prince would patronise the ceremony and present the awards to seven recipients who are declared winners by the jury, taking into account online votes.

He announced the second edition of the award, which will be launched next autumn, would be expanded to include contenders from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
