HRH Crown Prince Inaugurates Renovated Manama Municipality Building
Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, inaugurated the renovated Manama Municipality building on Monday following its restoration. The inauguration was part of the implementation of Royal directives by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to preserve Bahrain's historical and cultural identity and redevelop Manama Souq's historical area.
HRH highlighted the Kingdom's extensive experience in municipal work, spanning over a century, enhancing urban development and public services. He emphasised that the Manama Municipality, established in 1919, was among the first in the region and has contributed significantly to organising the capital's affairs and keeping pace with its development.
The renovation embodies the Kingdom's commitment to preserving institutional landmarks of historical value, ensuring they remain a testament to Bahrain's ongoing urban and developmental progress. HRH stressed the importance of continuing to develop municipal work to improve services and create an efficient service environment.
His Excellency Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, expressed gratitude for HRH's inauguration, noting it reflects the Kingdom's commitment to preserving its heritage and advancing municipal work. The event was attended by senior officials, including His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court.
