HH Shaikh Khalid Congratulates HM King On Bahrain’s Asian Games Success

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Bahrain’s achievements at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Bahrain concluded its participation with 22 medals, including 11 gold, five silver and six bronze, finishing first among Arab countries and 10th in Asia.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa also congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the SCYS, praising his continued support for Bahraini sport.

He highlighted the contributions of the national sports federations, technical and administrative teams and athletes, describing the results as a significant achievement in the history of Bahraini sport.

His Highness particularly praised the athletics teams for securing nine gold medals, while also highlighting the handball team’s first-ever Asian Games gold medal and the swimming team’s historic gold, which marked Bahrain’s first swimming medal at the Asian Games and the first swimming medal won by any Gulf country.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed pride in the Bahraini delegation and said the results reflect the Kingdom’s continued sporting development and its ambitions for further success in future competitions.
