Bahrain Chairs GCC Central Bank Governors’ Meeting
The Kingdom of Bahrain chaired the 87th meeting of the Committee of Central Bank Governors of the GCC countries in Manama on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, in the presence of GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi and the governors of the GCC central banks.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination among GCC central banks to support financial and monetary stability.
Key topics included joint payment systems, banking supervision and oversight, financial sector technologies, cybersecurity information sharing, and efforts to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
Humaidan highlighted the continued development of the GCC banking sector and its role in supporting economic growth and sustainable development.
