Joint Coast Guard Campaign Checks Maritime Safety Violations in Muharraq
The Coast Guard has conducted a joint inspection campaign along several coastlines in Muharraq Governorate as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime safety and address violations.
The campaign was carried out in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate, the General Directorate of Marine Resources at the Supreme Council for Environment, and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority.
Authorities inspected boats to ensure required maritime safety equipment was available and that license plates and side numbers were properly installed. They also checked the validity of navigation licences and boat ownership documents, as well as the installation and operation of Automatic Identification System (AIS) devices.
The campaign also included checks for unlicensed migrant workers and compliance with fishing regulations and laws, as authorities continue efforts to promote safe and lawful maritime activities.
