New Drive to Support Entrepreneurs

Ministry explores joint initiatives to support entrepreneurs and agricultural businesses

Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak met with MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Bahrain Association for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in supporting SMEs and entrepreneurs.

The meeting reviewed areas of mutual interest and opportunities to develop joint initiatives and programmes, particularly in the municipal and agricultural sectors.

Al Mubarak stressed the ministry’s commitment to supporting agricultural entrepreneurship through programmes that develop the skills of farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs and create opportunities for them to benefit from various projects and initiatives.

He said stronger cooperation with the private sector and civil society organisations would help support innovation, create opportunities for young people and entrepreneurs, and increase the contribution of SMEs to a more diversified and sustainable economy.

Al Salloom welcomed the ministry’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with the association and praised its programmes supporting entrepreneurs and farmers.
