Recognition marks 70 years of Bahrain-RMAS ties

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a congratulatory cable to Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Royal Family Council, following his recognition by the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS).

Shaikh Mohammed was honoured as the first Bahraini to graduate from the academy after joining it in 1957. The recognition coincides with the 70th anniversary of relations between Bahrain and RMAS.

His Majesty also congratulated Shaikh Mohammed on the graduation of his grandson, Shaikh Mohammed bin Fawaz Al Khalifa, from the academy alongside a cohort that included Bahraini graduates.

The King praised Shaikh Mohammed’s distinguished career, competence and expertise, noting that the honour reflects the respect accorded to Bahrain and its citizens internationally.

His Majesty also commended Shaikh Mohammed’s continued service to Bahrain and highlighted the longstanding strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United Kingdom.

He further praised the growing cooperation between Bahrain and RMAS in military and training fields, as well as the academy’s longstanding reputation for preparing military personnel and leaders.
