Gulf's Iron Shield
Bahrain Defence Force Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi inspected the Bahrain Shield joint exercise, which included armed forces from all Gulf Cooperation Council states.
The Chief of Staff said the exercise reflects the strength of collective Gulf military capabilities in addressing regional challenges. He stressed the BDF's commitment to joint drills as a means of enhancing combat readiness, developing operational performance, and unifying military concepts across participating forces.
Lieutenant General Al Nuaimi described Bahrain Shield as a practical expression of the GCC's shared approach to joint defence, conducted under the close attention of GCC leaders. He said the exercise reinforces fraternal bonds among member states and serves as a strategic pillar for military solidarity — enabling Gulf forces to deter any aggression threatening regional security or national interests.
Pointing to ongoing hostile attacks across the region, he expressed confidence that the exercise marks a solid step toward strengthening collective Gulf action, boosting rapid response capabilities, and safeguarding the sovereignty and stability of all GCC states.
